Gift of Vision

Gift of Vision

For many in India, vision impairment is a continuous obstacle of daily life. Sahaita’s Gift of Vision program works to repair that. Your helping hand allows us to provide FREE eyeglasses, medicated eye drops, eye surgeries, and even transportation to the surgeries. Follow-up examinations take place at outreach clinics.

Sarinh Eye Clinic

Thanks to our supporters in Kenya, Sahaita funds an eye clinic in Sarinh (Ludhiana district). Located on the older premises of Sarabjit Memorial Hospital, this clinic operates 6 days a week with an on-site ophthalmologist and nursing assistant.

Pakhowal Eye Clinic

Sahaita also runs a bi-monthly eye clinic at Pakhowal. The high volume of patients at these locations is indicative of a dire need for vision correction in individuals who likely spent many years struggling to see.

In 15 years, Sahaita’s Gift of Vision program has treated over 37,000 eye camp patients and over 18,000 eye hospital patients, conducted over 8,000 eye surgeries, and distributed over 14,000 eye glasses. But more than numbers, these are lives changed. These are our elders who can finally see their grandchildren clearly, these are women whose eyes are finally relieved after decades of sewing intricate patterns, these are intelligent youth whose families can’t afford to send them outside of the village for glasses. Thank you for bringing vibrancy and purpose back into their lives.
