Patiala School for the Deaf & Blind
Safipur, Patiala (Punjab)
The Patiala School for the Deaf and Blind, spearheaded by Col. Karaminder Singh, is home to some of the most inspirational children Sahaita has seen. Students are exposed to alternative methods of teaching that bring them up to speed and beyond expectations, strengthening the senses they do have. These methods have proven to equip deaf and/or blind individuals with skills that will successfully immerse them into society. Outside of the classroom, one would be awestruck watching them play sports and sense vibrations for sounds and activity. Their abilities will leave you speechless. Some students have angelic voices, while others are the most critical thinkers and problem solvers.
Sahaita supports approximately 25 students per year at this school. Moreover, your helping hands finance the maintenance of the facility as well as curricular demands, since most students live on campus or move on to a home of their own yet return during the day to teach their peers.
